☠ 3rd Haunt ☠ - [Action | Voice]
[So this past week had been unkind to Perona. She'd been seen practically naked and transported to a manner of places, made a fool of herself, and was scared half to death again. She'd even been self quarantined to her apartment out of fear of burning up in the sunlight. So, now that the experiment's ended, she's going out at last to do some shopping and to actually enjoy the warmth of the sunshine. Maybe get some cake at the bakery, too.
Unfortunately, her shopping journey only nabs Perona a few simple striped shirts and some gorgeous heels (what a find, squeeee!! ♥♥♥) so she stops by the fountain to make a request in her journal. The boots were a great find, so she has an honest smile on her face as she speaks, which is rare in most cases.]
There are supposed to be custom tailors here, aren't there? I want to put in a request for something cute, and classy! A little dark, with some frills or lace... Ah, yes, a gown! I want a gown to dance in! And some matching gloves, too!
[Aaah...a dark gown - to dance around in the moonlight in a dark gown and sing a song. Even if there wasn't a castle around, Perona doesn't care. She deserves a good night for herself to have fun and let her hair down. In fact, that sounds like a wonderful idea, and she's already thinking on what to wear and sing and where to do it. The roof of her community housing building? Or the Battledome? Maybe even the ocean! Yes, yes, dancing along the ocean under the moon while singing a haunted song~!!! Yes, yes, that'd be perfect.
So, once it's dark, Perona leaves for the ocean with her parasol and journal in hand. Though she doesn't have a dark gown, the white sundress worn by most New Feathers that she kept for whatever reason since she came to Luceti (it was torn and stained a little, it fit the haunted feel she so dearly loves) serves well enough. Tossing her journal - which falls open and begins to record and parasol aside, Perona breathes in the salty air and removes her shoes. Mm, the cold sand felt nice, and the seafoam was pleasant, too. Why hadn't she done this before?]
OOOOOHOROHOROHORO~!
So, shall we start? ♥
[And so Perona sings and dances, well into the night. A few of her hollow ghosts join her after a while, which she conjures herself, dancing and swaying around their master, but the girl herself seems to be having fun at last.]
Evil flowers steadily bloom,
With an array of colorful doom!
Now the people speak of her without a second thought,
The daughter of evil received what she sought!
[And curtsy!]

Sabo-kun! Were you the one that created that wind just now?
no subject
Sorry. Did it bother you?
no subject
Horohorohoro, of course not! You made my dance so much better, in fact, so thank you! But how did you do that? [He couldn't have eaten a Devil Fruit...he could still swim.] And what are you even doing out here so late at night, all by yourself?
no subject
A-ah, that? Well, you've heard of the magic in this place? Seems like you can learn them from elemental spirits. I've just been training with one, the Wind guy called Kipinn. [And he demonstrates more by creating a small whirlwind in hand.] Guess I didn't notice the time.
no subject
I think I remember reading about those...though I never thought I'd need any such magic. I do well enough on my own, horohoro... [She glances over her shoulder where the ghosts were wandering, flowing through the sand and doing their own little "dance" of sorts - circling around one another happily.]
no subject
[He follows her gaze to those... things dancing behind her. Now's a good time to ask, right?] So those things... they're part of your Devil Fruit powers? What do they do? [He peers at the closest ghost, reaching out a hand as if to pat its head.]
no subject
Perona's almost too caught up in her thoughts that she misses Sabo's question, but snaps out of it just in time to grab his wrist quickly.]
Ah, don't touch it! [Perona swats her hollows away, who frown dejectedly and slink off, as if scolded.] ...They're ghosts, if you haven't guessed already. I ate the Horo Horo no Mi and became a spirit woman. I can make and control ghosts. The ones I just shooed away are my negative Hollows. ...If you touch them, or they pass through you, they hollow out your spirit of its happiness and will to live.
So, stay away from them. [A pause, then quickly--] And don't tell anyone about anything I say.
no subject
He shivers and nods.] I won't. [He watches the ghosts again but with wariness this time.] I didn't expect ghosts to look like this though...
no subject
They're cute, aren't they? But this one's cuter! [Perona opens up her palm, and out pops yet another hollow, though it's puny compared to the others hanging back, still making sad faces.] It's a tiny hollow! My cutest one! You can touch this one, too! It's not like the others, and it won't hurt you unless I activate it.
[The teeny ghosty in question flies around in small loops, then hovers around Sabo's face and smacks onto his nose with a soft splat!]
no subject
...Until it smacks his nose.] H-hey! [Grumbling unhappily just because, and catching the tiny ghost in his palm and looking at it closely.] It's squishy! So you can control the density of the ghosts? And what do you mean, activate? What do they do?
no subject
I can't tell you all my secrets, Sabo-kun! Half the fun of being a devil fruit user is having people try and guess what you can do. But you're a smart boy, so I'm sure you can find out someday on your own. Just don't tell anyone when you do, all right?
no subject
[And because he can respect her privacy, he hands back the hollow.] I should get going. You look like you were enjoying yourself here, so I might be keeping you from it.
no subject
The tiny hollow, having been enjoying the playful poking and squishing, is reluctant to remove itself from Sabo's hand, curling its arms and tail around his finger until Perona coaxes it off herself before reabsorbing it into her palm.]
...If you're afraid of keeping me from my fun, why not join me then? Then I can escort you most of the way home, Sabo-kun.
no subject
At the invitation, he blinks.] Are you sure? I mean, it's fine with me if you really want to. It's not like I'm hurrying home or anything.
no subject
Of course! We can dance together for one more song, then I'll take you some of the way home so you're not walking by yourself. I know the perfect song we can dance to, as well...if you can dance to slow and melodious things. [She wouldn't let her friend go out in Luceti alone. Sabo may be a tough cookie, but he's still just a little kid, and perona'd be really upset if she could have prevented something from happening to him if it does.]
no subject
Don't worry about walking me home. I'm used to going home like this! I even know shortcuts and stuff. But, a-ah... [head-scratches.] I don't dance, uh, 'least not since I was five. And I was never really good at it. [If his instructors' reports to his parents were to be believed. >>]
no subject
Mmhrm...then I can fly you off the ground a little, if you really can't. A few inches, maybe. [Perona takes Sabo gently and lifts him up a little, kinda just testing his weight.] You're very light and small. ...Or I could lead and you follow? I know how to dance to many kinds of things, and I know a perfect song to dance to right now. A waltz!
no subject
And he yelps when he's lifted up, though other than that initial startled flailing, he settles down quickly enough.] Ah. I know that one! That's one of the few dances I learned back in-- [and here he freezes for a moment. He hasn't told her the truth about his heritage yet, has he? Should he tell her? ... ... Nah. Since when did his lineage matter anyway?] --er, back home. So, what song is it?
no subject
It's called Dark Waltz! It's a beautiful song, and on a dark night like tonight...it's perfect! It's slow and languid and lovely... [A sigh.] It's a wonderful song and dance, but it really does require a partner to be truly perfect. You're a bit small, Sabo-kun, but I think we'll still have fun.
no subject
And so with conscience clear, Sabo takes off his hat, straightens his collar and gives a perfect mini gentleman bow, but with his familiar shitty little pipsqueak grin.] Lead on, m'lady!
no subject
We are the lucky ones,
We shine like a thousand suns,
When all of the colors run together...
no subject
And then the song and dance starts, and Sabo gapes for a moment, but he quickly shakes his head and immerses himself on both the graceful movements Perona is guiding him and the voice singing softly amid the sound of the sea.
From the first few lines alone, the writer in him's already in love with the rhythm and imagery of the song.]
